Summary 

The Finland Women's Safety Survey conducted in 1997-1998 assessed the prevalence of domestic and sexual violence against women, childhood experiences of violence, and fears of violence. The survey also examined differences between population groups, consequences for perpetrators, and the psychological impact of violence. Data were collected from Finnish and Swedish speaking women, ages 18-74, and a total of 4,955 individuals successfully completed the survey questionnaire.
