Summary 

The major objectives of the National Fertility and Family Survey was to collect data on the level of fertility, maternal mortality, infant mortaility, and contraceptive use. The survey collected information on variations among these factors according to socio-economic status and other characteristics.  The survey excluded Eritrea, Tigrai, Asseb and Ogaden.  It used a sample of 14,680 women, ages 15-49.
