Summary

The Survey of Health, Aging and Retirement in Europe (SHARE) is a multi-country longitudinal study of aging in Europe. The second round took place primarily in 2006 and 2007, with data collection in Israel in 2009 and 2010. Wave 2 included a main questionnaire that included 22 modules on health status and behaviors, self-reported height and weight, mental health, economic status,  social support, and an additional "end of life" questionnaire that was conducted for deceased respondents. Data were collected through face-to-face and computer-aided personal interviews, as well as a self-administered written questionnaire.

Further information on SHARE survey methodology and usage is available on the SHARE website.
