The template survey includes 10 core and 4 optional modules. Topics include household characteristics, partnerships, fertility, and use of contraception. Each country developed a unique questionnaire derived from the standardized template. Sampling and data collection varied across the participating countries. The FFS was conducted by the Bulgaria Academy of Science within the country, and a total of 2,367 interviews were completed by women ages 18-49. Due to budgetary constraints, males were not included and large portions of the standard questionnaire were removed.
