Summary

The Belize 2011 MICS is part of Round 4 of the survey series. Topics covered include health, education, child protection, sanitation, and HIV/AIDS. The survey was carried out by the Statistical Institute of Belize (SIB) over a two month period in 2011.

The survey was conducted in seven regions, and sample weights were used to provide nationally representative results. Three questionnaires were used: one for households; one for women ages 15-49 years; and one for children, that was administered to mothers and caretakers.

A total of 4,424 households were interviewed. A total of 4,096 women were interviewed, and questionnaires were completed for 1,946 children under the age of five years that were identified on the household questionnaire. An additional 3,234 children between the ages of 2 and 11 years old were enumerated using a disability questionnaire.
