Summary

Censuses provide population numbers, household or family size and composition, and information on sex and age distribution. They often include other demographic, economic and health-related topics as well. The 2001-2002 Argentina de facto census collected data through face-to-face interviews on  housing, household demographics, assets, employment for individuals 14 and older, education, migration, ethnicity, disability, and fertility for women 14 and older. The census was primarily carried out on November 17 and 18, 2001; however, due to flooding interviews in some areas did not occur until May of 2002. Coverage of the census was 97.25%. A 10% sample of households from the census (3,626,103 individuals) is available through IPUMS International at the University of Minnesota. Dwellings and vacant units are not identified in the sample. Refer to the IPUMS website for guidelines on citing database versions.
