The 2010 epidemiological report contains data from modules of the National Health Surveillance System (SNVS), including the clinical surveillance module, the laboratory surveillance module (SIVILA), and data from sentinel units. As of 2009 the epidemiological system covers 400 out of 7200 private establishments (6%) and 5500 out of 7700 public establishments (70%). In 2010, 5,865 facilities reported to the system.

The report provides case numbers and rates of notification for all notifiable diseases by province. Standardized morbidity ratios and confidence intervals are also included in the tables. In addition to numbers from 2010, data from 2009 are provided to allow comparison between years. Sections on injuries, gastroenteric diseases, dermatological diseases, chemical poisonings, meningoencephalitis, Chagas, respiratory illnesses, and vaccine-preventable diseases provide additional information and analysis of the epidemiological situation.
