Summary

The purpose of this survey was to gather the nutritional and micronutrient information of the population, and influencing factors. These data were collected to inform nutrition policies and programs, and assess changes and trends since the previous survey done in 2004. The data were collected with interviews, questionnaires, anthropometric measurements, and biologic specimen tests. The questionnaires covered demographic and socioeconomic information, health literacy, reproductive history, infant feeding practices, health status, and micronutrient and food consumption. Interviews and focus group discussions were conducted with mothers, family elders, and care providers. Blood samples were collected from children ages 6-59 months, women ages 15-49, and unmarried girls ages 10-19. Urine samples were collected from women ages 15-49 and children ages 7-12. 17,339 households participated in the survey.
