Korean Longitudinal Study of Ageing 2006
General Info
The Korean Longitudinal Study of Ageing (KLOSA) 2006 is a survey of middle-aged and old adults on the following topics: employment, income, health status, home care, health care use, and household demographics. The study utilized computer-assisted personal interviews and collected responses from 10,254 participants 45 years and older. It included grip strength measurements and cognition tests. The health status portion of the questionnaire recorded incidence of chronic diseases, injuries, symptoms and treatment, as well as signs of ageing. Another section inquired about health insurance and personal medical expenditures.
The first wave of the study occurred in 2006 and it excluded residents of Jeju Island. In odd-numbered years (such as 2007), KLOSA focuses on special topics. Microdata and reports may be available through the Korea Labor Institute website.
