Summary
The Turkish Demographic Survey was conducted to facilitate monitoring of the changes in the demographic, social, and economic structure of the population. A multistage, randomly stratified cluster sampling technique was applied. The questionnaire included sections to be answered by the head of the household, ever-married women ages 12-49, and all individuals ages 12 and over. The questionnaire was administered to 17,675 households and 82,648 individuals, in 238 settlements. The survey collected information on household deaths, fertility, and maternal mortality. A report may be available through the library system.
