Summary 

The Mozambique AIDS Indicator Survey (AIS) 2009 is part of phase 5 of the Demographic and Health Survey (DHS) series, a nationally representative household survey series. Topics commonly covered in the AIS series include: family planning, health behavior and knowledge, health care access, health care use, health status, and use of antimalarial drugs. The 2009 Mozambique AIS focused on respondents knowledge of and attitudes toward HIV/AIDS and behaviors that heighten the risk of HIV infections. Blood tests were conducted to determine HIV prevalence.
