The report on health expenditure in Germany from 1995-2010 is based on the OECD system of health accounting. It presents expenditure according to source, including government, statutory health insurance, statutory public pensions, accident insurance, private health insurance, employers, and households and organizations in the private sector. Expenditure is further broken down by activity type and type of facility, and inpatient versus outpatient treatment. The numbers are the results of a secondary statistical accounting system that summarizes approximately 35 different data sources from the health care system to determine health expenditure. An appendix includes an explanation of the system of health expenditure accounting. Years covered are 1995, 2000, and 2005-2010, with the the most detailed tables pertaining to 2010.
