Summary
The annual World Drug Report is part of the United Nations' effort to monitor the commitment to eliminate the global illicit drug supply and demand. The report includes analyses of transnational drug markets for heroin, cocaine, and amphetamine-type stimulants. Additionally, statistical trends for drug production and consumption are presented for all major drug categories. Data primarily come from the Annual Reports Questionnaire, which was sent to 192 UN Member States. The 2009 data are preliminary estimates.
