Rwanda Comprehensive Food Security and Vulnerability Assessment and Nutrition Survey 2009
General Info
The 2009 Rwanda Comprehensive Food Security and Vulnerability Assessment and Nutrition Survey (CFSVA & NS) includes indicators on human and social capital, livelihood strategies, food consumption, and health and nutrition in addition to the areas covered in the 2006 CFSVA.
For the sample, 16 strata were defined using administrative limits rather than food economy zones, as in the 2006 CFSVA. Kigali (districts of Nyarugenge, Gasabo and Kicukiro) was excluded from the survey. This area makes up approximately 9.4% of the total Rwandan population. In each strata a two-stage sampling was implemented.
A total of 5,400 households were visited and a total of 438 community key imformants were interviewed. Only households with children ages 6-59-months were included in the sample.
