Latvia Fertility and Family Survey 1995
General Info
The Fertility and Family Surveys (FFS) were conducted in 23 United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) Region countries from 1989 to 1999. The template survey includes 10 core and 4 optional modules. Topics include household characteristics, partnerships, fertility, and use of contraception. Each country developed a unique questionnaire derived from the standardized template. Sampling and data collection varied across the participating countries.
The Latvia FFS questionnaire is composed of the 10 core modules and the migration history and population policy acceptance optional modules. The target population was men and women between the age of 18 and 49 years. Due to cost constraints, the survey was conducted in half of the administrative areas of the country. A total of 2,699 interviews with women and 1,501 with men were completed.
