United States Cancer Statistics - Mortality
General Info
The United States Cancer Statistics (USCS) are the official federal cancer incidence and mortality statistics for all 50 states and the District of Columbia. The mortality data are provided from the National Vital Statistics System (NVSS), but are categorized in accordance with revised SEER recodes from 2003 to ensure comparability with the cancer incidence data. Because this grouping differs from the normal method in NVSS, the death rates may vary from official NVSS death rates.
To ensure confidentiality, counts and rates for some variables may be suppressed.
Cancer incidence data are also available in the GHDx and through CDC Wonder which offers additional ways to explore and extract the data.
