Uganda Delivery of Improved Services for Health, Facility and Household Evaluation Surveys 1999
General Info
In 1997 a survey program was initiated to analyze the impact of the DISH project in Uganda. The program consisted of the 1997 household and health facility surveys, the 1999 household and health facility surveys, and the 2002 facility survey.
In the first sampling stage, census enumeration areas from the 1995 DHS were randomly sampled so that results from the two surveys -and the 1997 DISH -would be comparable and the 1995 DHS could serve as a baseline. The questionnaires were also modeled on the DHS forms. 1,766 women age 15-49 and 1,057 men age 15-54 were interviewed through the household survey. The facility survey was administered to 478 health facilities, pharmacies, and drug stores. Both the household and facility questionnaires were expanded in 1999.
