Senegal General Population and Housing Census 1988 - IPUMS
General Info
Censuses provide population numbers, household or family size and composition, and information on sex and age distribution. They often include other demographic, economic and health-related topics as well. The 1988 Senegal de facto and de jure census collected data via face-to-face interviews on the subjects of housing, household demographics, employment for those 6 and older, education, disability, and fertility for women 12 and older. The census day was May 20, 1988 and fieldwork continued until June 3. A 10% sample of households from the census (700,199 individuals) is available through IPUMS International at the University of Minnesota. Dwellings, vacant units, and group quarters are not identified in the microdata. Refer to the IPUMS website for guidelines on citing database versions.
