Romania Population and Housing Census 1977 - IPUMS
General Info
Censuses provide population numbers, household or family size and composition, and information on sex and age distribution. They often include other demographic, economic and health-related topics as well. The 1977 Romania de jure census collected data through face-to-face interviews on the subjects of housing, household demographics, employment, education, migration, and fertility. The census day was January 5, 1977 and fieldwork continued until January 12. Census coverage was 97.26% of the population.
A 10% sample of households from the census (1,937,021 individuals) is available through IPUMS International at the University of Minnesota. Vacant units and group quarters are not available in the sample. The sample excludes two counties and parts of three others, approximately 7% of the national population. Refer to the IPUMS website for guidelines on citing database versions.
