National health accounts (NHA) constitute a systematic monitoring of the resource flows in a country's health care system, helping to inform the evaluation of health care policy.
Following the International Classification for Health Accounts (ICHA) standards, the 2007 NHA report published by the Ministry of Public Health (Burundi) contains data on the sources of funds to financing agents (FS x HF), the resource flow from financing agents to providers (HF x HP), and the functional utilization of health funds (HF x HC, HP x HC).
