Summary
The Global Adult Tobacco Survey (GATS) is a household survey that collects data on non-institutionalized men and women aged 15 years and older using a standardized methodology for constructing the sample frame, selecting households, and processing data.
The GATS is designed to produce national and subnational estimates on tobacco use. The Vietnam GATS provides information on tobacco use, cessation, second-hand smoke, and knowledge, attitudes, and perceptions towards tobacco. The survey also covers basic sociodemographic characteristics. A total of 8,996 individuals from 9,514 households were successfully canvassed in Vietnam.
