Chinese Family Panel Studies Baseline 2010-2011

The Chinese Family Panel Studies (CFPS) is a nationally representative, annual longitudinal survey that collected data on economic activities, educational attainment, family dynamics, migration, communities, and the health status of individuals and families in China from 2008 to 2014. The 2008 baseline pilot survey and 2009 follow-up pilot survey were only conducted in Shanghai, Guangdong, and Beijing. The 2010 CFPS national baseline survey was conducted in 25 administrative areas of China where 95% of the population reside. Surveyed areas include: Shanghai, Liaoning, Henan, Gansu, Guangdong, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Fujian, Jiangxi, Anhui, Shandong, Hebei, Shanxi, Jilin, Heilongjiang, Guangxi, Hubei, Hunan, Sichuan, Guizhou, Yunnan, Tianjin, Beijing, Chongqing, and Shaanxi. For the 2010 baseline survey, 33,600 adults and 8,990 children from 14,960 households were successfully interviewed.
