Summary
The Eritrea Malaria Indicator Survey 2008 used a nationally representative sample of 1,920 households from 96 clusters or villages within the four malarious zones of Eritrea (Anseba, Debub, Gash Baraka, and Northern Red Sea). It assessed prevalence of fever among children under 5, type and timing of any received treatment, household ownership and use of insecticide treated nets by the general population and children under 5, as well as communal knowledge about the role of community health agents. A general population questionnaire and women's questionnaire were used to collect data. The women's questionnaire was used for all consenting women aged 15-49 years of age.
