Summary
The Iran Integrated Micronutrient Survey 2012 covers topics of dietary intake, lifestyle habits, anemia, and the current status of key micronutrients in blood such as iron, zinc, vitamins A and D. The sample size includes 32,270 individuals and the country was divided into 11 areas. Age groups included children 15-23 months, male teens between 15-20 years, female teens between 14-20 years, women between 50-60 years, and men between 45-60 years. The pregnant women that participated were between 5-9 months pregnant at the time of being interviewed. The survey also included anthropometric measurements (weight, height, and waist circumfrence) and blood tests. The Iran National Integrated Micronutrient Survey is also known as NIMS.
