Summary
The National Vital Statistics Report on U.S. birth data for 2011 presents the data reported on the birth certificates of the 3,953,590 births that occurred during the year. The data are presented for a variety of characterstics, including maternal demographic, such as age, live birth order, race, marital status, attendant at birth, and method of delivery. Infant characteristics including gestation and birthweight are presented as well. Selected data are shown by mother's state of residence, and trends in fertility patterns are also represented.
