Summary
The purpose of this study was to assess the scope of neurological disease within Kolkata.
The data were collected through two different phases. In the first phase, questionnaires were used to interview individuals of all ages in the home in order obtain sociodemographic and health status information. Participants who had a positive result for neurological conditions were selected for the second phase. These individuals then underwent in-home physical examinations by a neurologist.
The study collected data on 52,377 subjects. Of these, 27,626 were male and 24,751 were female.
