Summary
The purpose of this survey was to collect data in order to gather information on marital status, fertility, and contraception in order to compare them with the first Demographic Survey of Mongolia, conducted in 1994.
The data were collected through in-person interviews in rural and urban areas. The questionnaires included one for the household and one for women in the 15-49 year age group. The main topic areas of the household questionnaire were living conditions and member demographics. The women's questionnaire asked about birth history, contraceptive use, and attitudes related to those topics. The sample size for the survey was 1,600 households and 1,810 women living within those households.
