Summary
The purpose of this survey was to estimate the crude mortality rate for the whole population and the rate specifically for persons over the age of 15 years living in Odisha and Andhra Pradesh. The data were collected through verbal autopsy. These interviews occurred in both rural and urban areas in each state. The survey captured information on 2,344 deaths in Andhra Pradesh and 2,011 in Odisha.
