This first annual report of the National Child Vaccination Program describes the outcome in terms of vaccination coverage, the incidence of the diseases vaccinated against, and the reported side effects of vaccinations. The intended audience of the report is child and school health care providers and infectious disease physicians. Sweden’s Public Health Agency and Medical Products Agency are responsible for monitoring the country’s national child vaccination program, disease surveillance, microbiological monitoring and immunity in the population, and security monitoring for adverse effects of vaccine administration. Table three provides information on vaccination coverage of two-year-old children from 2009 through 2013. The report includes reported cases of childhood diseases for 2013.
