Somalia - Somaliland Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey 1996
General Info
The Somalia - Somaliland Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey 1996 is part of round 1 of the Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey (MICS) series, an international survey initiative to monitor the situation of children and women. Topics covered in the MICS are intended to provide data that can be used to assess progress towards mid-decade goals defined at the United Nations 1990 World Summit for Children. This 1996 MICS covers individuals living in Somaliland, also known as the northwest zone of Somalia. Data was gathered from 1,144 household interviews of women in the five regions of Somaliland and covers 2,957 children ages 0-15. Men were not included in the survey. The survey is designed to be representative of the whole of Somaliland, regions in Somaliland, urban and rural sedentary areas, and rural nomadic populations.
