Kenya National Survey for Persons with Disabilities 2007

The Kenya National Survey for Persons with Disabilities 2007 collected information from persons with disabilities in an effort to improve the resources for and wellbeing of persons with disabilities. This survey was designed to be representative at the national, provincial, urban and rural levels. The total sample included a household sample of more than 14,000 households, as well as an institutional sample of 102 residential institutions such as hospitals, psychiatric institutions, treatment centers, special schools, and nursing homes.
This survey included a household questionnaire, individual questionnaire (administered to persons with disabilities identified in the household survey), reproductive health questionnaire, institutional questionnaire, and a focus group discussion for 6-10 participants from each sampled cluster. Information was collected on participants' disabilities, demographic characteristics, resources available and used, and reproductive health for women ages 12 to 49.
