Summary
One of Cameroon's impediments in achieving its Millennium Development Goals is the shortage of health care professionals. As members of the medical profession age, focus shifts to educating and recruiting replacements for retiring physicians. The report examines the medical education system of Cameroon, identifying and tracking students and their programs of study in anticipation of meeting health service needs. There is a count of current staff and their medical specialties and locations of practice throughout the country. The report identifies a great deal of disparity in distribution of staff by province.
