Summary
The Germany Health, Well-Being and Personal Safety of Women 2003 collected information on women's experiences with violence, their feelings of personal safety and their psychosocial and physical health situations. The study is divided into three parts:
- The main representative study in which a sample of 10,000 women were administered a questionnaire and interviewed in their households and other locations.
- A supplementary survey directed at sub-groups of the population including Turkish and East European immigrant women, prostitutes, women in prison and refugees.
- A qualitative study of women victims of violence.
The questionnaires and interviews covered physical, psychological and sexual abuse.
