Published in The Lancet in January 2014, "The state of health in the Arab world, 1990-2010: an analysis of the burden of diseases, injuries, and risk factors" study estimated causes of death, DALYs, YLDs, and YLLs by age and sex for 1990, 2005, and 2010 by three regions based on gross national income: low-income countries (Comoros, Djibouti, Mauritania, Yemen, Somalia), middle-income contries (Algeria, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, occupied Palestinian territory, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia), and high-income countries (Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates).
