Summary
The purpose of this second national tuberculosis prevalence survey was to obtain data on the prevalence of pulmonary TB and to investigate the TB prevalence trends. The survey also examined health behavior and TB symptoms. The data were gathered through exams at mobile units and in-person interviews. Participants underwent chest x-rays. If the results of the x-rays or the interview showed suspected TB symptoms, then two sputum samples were taken. The sample size for this survey was 37,417 individuals aged 15 years and older.
