Vanuatu National Nutrition Survey 1996
General Info
The National Nutrition Survey conducted in 1996 was the second of its kind in Vanuatu. The survey assessed the nutritional levels of women and children in the country, as well as examined breastfeeding and feeding practices, traditional healers and medicine, and food security. The survey also recorded hemoglobin concentration and anthropometric measurements for all participants. All women were asked to also complete a 24 hour dietary recall. Data were collected from children under-5 and women of reproductive ages 15-49. The sample was drawn using the 1989 population census for urban areas and the 1993 agricultural census for rural areas.
