Summary
The Senegal Malaria Indicator Survey (MIS) 2008-2009 was the second MIS conducted in Senegal, and part of phase five of the Demographic and Health Surveys (DHS) series. It used a sample of approximately 9,300 households, yielding interviews with over 19,000 women, ages 15-49 years. The sample was nationally representative, and representative for urban and rural areas and at the regional level. Topics included were water and sanitation, household assets, insecticide spraying, mosquito nets, and maternal education. The survey included a hemoglobin test and a malaria test.
