The 2014 NSDUH includes questions on demographics, income, access to and use of health services, behaviors related to alcohol, tobacco, illicit drug use and non-medical use of prescription drugs. The survey also includes questions on mental health symptoms from the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM) of Mental Disorders. Additionally, respondents ages 12-17 were targeted for specific questions about social influences and attitudes on substance use.
